Scaling Back

Starting in January, I plan to share my personal weight loss strategies every Tuesday. I am no doctor, nor do I claim to have any magical weight loss formula. But I am methodically working on losing my Alaska winter weight without drastic medication or hormone altering drugs. I am choosing a common sense and safe way to attack this problem and I plan to share them with you on Tuesdays.

Thankful Thursday

I believe that being thankful is something you choose to do, because it does not come naturally. By nature, humans tend to focus on the negatives in life, even when so much research has shown that being thankful and positive have several health benefits.

Frugal Family

When you have a large family (7 for us, not including the huge dog), we are always on the lookout for ways to cut the budget. It is a hard discipline, but well worth the effort when you can purchase something big in cash or watch your savings account grow.

Memory Lane

I have been blessed to have many memories that are pleasant and I love to share them with folks. The bad memories are not always pleasant, but still worth sharing because all of my past, both good and bad, created the woman that I am today.

Breast Cancer Awareness

I participated in a 30 day bloggin challenge recently and wrote about something that is very dear to my heart. It was a series on memories of my MIL Patty who died of Breast Cancer in 2005. It was a delightful, yet emotional journey that may inspire you as well. You can begin at the beginning…
