Free Homeschooling eBook

As a homeschooling mom, this is my favorite time of the year. The school schedule is being fine tuned, the books are being hunted, and new school supplies begin to line the shelves.

But this is not always the sensation of the homeschool mother. Around Christmas there is often the sensation of dread, of exhaustion, and the desire to avoid the school day. To put plainly, some of us are just plain burnt out.

Today, in an attempt to give some encouragement and some guidance comes a free eBook to help us Enjoy the Journey. The author, Barbara Frank, offers her experiences of homeschooling 25 years of four children, two of them with special needs. She doesn’t tell you step-by-step what to do and how to succeed, but rather offers principles and advice. Mostly she wishes to encourage those who fear homeschooling through high school or those of us who never intended to homeschool at all to stay the course to the launching of the 18 year old.

I have already run through a couple chapters of the book on my Kindle, but some of the points that I have already appreciated are:

  • don’t put your curriculum on a pedestal
  • tips for teaching boys
  • typing vs. writing

If these topics interest you, or if you would love to read more on these tips that have inspired me, click on the book image or the link above for your FREE version of the book.
