Book Review

Three Men Came to Heidelberg

This is a fabulous book for anyone interested in how the Heidelberg Catechism came to be. I would even suggest letting students read the book as an easy read for a great background of the years of the Reformation in Germany states. The language and writing style are, well, easy. It is not written for the scholar, though they may enjoy it as a reprieve. It is written so normal people, like me, can read and enjoy facts about history. It is also simply amazing how God orchestrated that time frame, how He brought together and moved the great minds of the reformation around to spread and strengthen His church during the dark years of the 16th century.

My new blog quote came from this book, it was the motto of Frederick the Pious,

“Herr, nach deinem Wille”
Lord, as thou wilt.
