Pilgrim’s Progress

Written in 1678 by John Bunyan, this classic masterpiece of Christian devotional theology has never been out of print and has been translated into over 200 languages.

Employing the literary device of allegory Bunyan tells the tale of a man who comes to faith in Christ and as he lives his life he learns many lessons, endures many trials, faces pain and loss, but ultimately enters into the Celestial City.

Especially powerful is his depiction of how tough life can be when one follows Christ, yet how the promises of our Lord can enable us to progress through every trial that comes our way.

Due to the affluence and comfort of our American context, we often seem like a church stuck in Vanity Fair (if you don’t know the reference… read the book!) and this book is a good guide for helping you make your escape! Enjoy!
