Thankful Thursday
Welcome to Thankful Thursday! Where we count our blessings and focus on the good things in our lives. There are so many good things that happen to us in life, but we don’t always pay attention or take note of them. This is a place to do just that. What has been given to you this week as a blessing? What good things have come your way that you need to focus on?
This week, I am thankful for:
~ a decent beginning to our homeschool. There were road bumps, of course, but we got through it and seem to be finding our routine.
~ I am extremely thankful to be going on the field trip to historic Talkeetna this Friday. It means a train ride on the Alaska Railroad and boat ride. Woohoo!!! Can’t wait to share pictures.
~ I am pretty excited about the huge blessing of this pile of free books from the homeschool coop we are a part of. Who doesn’t love free, right??

~ I am also very excited about the thrift shop score I had this past weekend on the half priced sale day. It is a blue leather coat with the faux fur lining. This will just rock come winter time in Alaska 🙂

~ I am thankful for my sisters who share not only my history, but my sense of humor. My younger sis asked me to do a group pin board on sisterhood and it’s been a lot of fun to do! Thanks Bethy for the invite!!

~ tonight, Wednesday night, I am very thankful for my husband. I didn’t marry a romantic, metrosexual guy who brushes my hair and cries along with me while watching drama/romance movies. I married a truth telling, realist who is as steady as they come. Tonight he blessed me with the knowledge that he loves me more than his dreams and desires. He has indeed been noticing the sacrifices I have made over the years in choosing to stay home and homeschool our children. Because he has taken notes, he has chosen to make one of my dreams one of his main life goals… and I love him for it. I needed to hear that someone notices, I needed to understand the depth of his love and devotion, and I needed it this week. Thank you Ben for that blessing and for making sure I heard what you said. Oh, and thanks for not teasing when my eyes were leaking all over the place after you said it 😉
Thank you for joining me in counting blessings and focusing on the good things in life.
Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as God has shown us mercy, we do not become discouraged. 2 Corinthians 4:1
Hey, folks, something has happened to linkytools. The entire website is down and I have no idea why. While Brett figures it out, please leave your link in the comment section using the box “click to link to your post” option. So sorry about this.
Yay for husbands who do such things! We’re finding our routine again, and I too am grateful for that.

Woohoo for finding a routine!!! That is such a blessing after a move!
He really did an amazing job of letting me know that I come first for him after God, and he did it well. I am blessed to have that, and need to remember that when I see other hubby’s doing the froo froo things that he doesn’t.
I wrote about being thankful for the beginning of our homeschool year, too! 🙂 Thanks for hosting!
Isn’t that funny? I do love the beginning of school. Makes me think of the Ann of Green Gables quote: “tomorrow has no mistakes in it”. This year has no mistakes or drudgery yet 😉
Sounds like you have a lot to be thankful for! 🙂
I do, but I often don’t pay attention to it 😉
