Thankful Thursday
Please forgive the lateness of getting this post out. Yesterday was one of those days of appointments, migraines, activities that just put me down. Those sure are no fun. But I am thankful that the day is over and I did indeed survive it!
This week I am thankful for:
~ The Susan G Komen foundation! They have taken up the cause of Breast Cancer like crazy. They are getting the word out about mammograms and education. I see their posters in our Women’s Health offices and the month of October is now pink, thanks to their efforts. I am thankful for their efforts in giving women hope during this battle. Keep it up!!
~ Mobile mammogram trucks. In the parking lot of the imaging office sat a pink ribbon truck. On the side of this truck it boldly stated “Mobile Mammogram Imaging”. These trucks will go to the home of a person who wants a mammogram! The truck will come to you!! That is a blessing! It’s not a whole lot easier than that, now it is?
~ Pink Ribbon 5K races. There are 5K races throughout the month of October for survivors and loved ones to put rubber to their battles. I love that!! I have never had the pleasure of doing one yet, but I will!!! I intended to do the 5K in DC the fall they moved us up here to Alaska. That one would have been awesome! If you would like to find a race in your area, you can find that here.
~ My sister. My baby sister does this walk every year. I am always proud of her effort as she gets a team together and walks in her effort to “Save the Ta-Ta’s” Way to go April!
~ I am so thankful that researchers have come so far with this disease. I am thankful for the hours they spend staring at microscopes and working that formula just one more time.
~ Thank you! I thank my readers and visitors for your patience as I spend these 31 days remembering Patty. It has been a lot of fun!
What are you thankful for this week?
