Goodbye 2013

Thankful Thursday

This will be our final Thankful Thursday of 2013, can you believe what a year it’s been? So very many things to be thankful for and to appreciate in our lives.  Sure, you may not be exactly where you thought you were going to be. You may be heading to a place where you do not wish to go. Yet even amid trials and tribulations, there are blessings. Storm clouds with silver linings. There are good things in life. won’t you take a moment to look for them and recognize them?

This year I am thankful for:

~ my husband. We can fuss and grumble at eacb other, but he is perfect for me and I am so very thankful to have him in my life. I am thankful for his strength and for his willingness to take life’s stress upon himself so that I don’t have to 😉 He drove the MAJORITY of our cross country trip, letting the kids and I sleep. He loves sharing our history and heritage with our kids whenever they ask. He also loves walking down memory lane with me. I am often terrible at telling him how much I appreciate him. I plan to do that more next year.

~ for South Carolina! The weather here has been amazing and though we love snow, we are basking in the warmth of SC. My allergies are going a bit haywire, but I can’t complain! The kids have been running around outside with the neighbor boys in jeans and t-shirts.  I am also very thankful for Charleston being so close. I just can’t wait to explore this beautiful city more!

~ my children. They keep me on my toes and sometimes running pure ragged, but they are delightful children so often. I am blessed to have so many, for being able to have carried them and delivered them safely. They are an inheritance from the Lord. Especially the boy who patted me on the back and told me his cake looked great, even after I totally bombed his Captain America birthday cake. He is a ‘Barnabas’ for our home and we are grateful for him!

~ for my family, for my friends, for a steady income. All blessings from above.

~For Christ. I can be a very obstinate, stubborn, willful child of God. There are times when I think I can  steer my own ship better. But my Savior lovingly reminds me I am not, He helps to wipe my tears away, He helps me to stand back up when I have fallen down, and He guides me as a great Shepherd. I am thankful for the gift of faith.

What are you thankful for this year? If you would just like to share your thankfulness list here, you can do so.
