It is Thursday, once again. Isn’t it amazing how weeks and days can hum right along without much of a notice? Life can be that way. Moments fly by, days follow, weeks become a blur…and we don’t stop for just a moment to look around us. We don’t take the time to stop and smell roses, nor do we stop to thank God for the beauty of the scenery that we are enjoying!
Thankful Thursday is for being thankful. For stopping in our crazy, busy lives to be thankful for the many blessings we have in our lives. We need to be reminded of our blessings! We need to remember to be thankful for those blessings that make us smile 🙂 The things that made me smile this week are:
~ a family enrichment retreat with the Chaplain class. I eagerly await sitting and being encouraged in my marriage this weekend. Good times, good times!
~ for the crazy weather. I recognize that my home turf of Iowa is getting some crazy cold temperatures. I don’t remember the last time our neighbor MN has called off school for severe cold temps!! Our current state of SC is awaiting record breaking snow…called off school in preparation for the fluffy…and we still have none on the ground 😉 I am allowed to tease after coming from Alaska, but I won’t razz them too much. But I am grateful for the evening of games and pizza we enjoyed while we played up to the expectations 🙂 It was fun!!

~ for a funny experience! I had to run to get some fun food for our little ‘winter party’ last night. This meant I was hitting the store at the same time as the bread/milk rush. I ran through the store, and was the only person running around in a long sleeved t-shirt. The rest were all wearing hats and gloves. As I was coming out of the store, I found a lady standing near the back of my minivan chuckling to herself. She made eye contact and said “this is you, isn’t it!” I confirmed that it was my Alaska plates. I asked her why she knew it was me. “You’re wearing a t-shirt! You know all about real weather, don’t you?” It was a funny moment and we both had a great laugh together. It really made my day!!
~ for this blog meme. I have had a great time hosting Thankful Thursday. I am thankful for the reminders each week to be thankful and to remember all the blessings I have in my life. I do hope you will take the time to be thankful with me!
~ hubby was able to see a friend this week that he hasn’t seen in 6 years! They had a great time and I am so thankful that God kept the winter weather from starting till hubby was on his way home. He still slid around outside of Charlotte a bit…something he waited till he got home to tell me. I thanked him for that 😉
