Weekly Wrap: Doing Brake Stands

Life:

A ‘brake stand’ is a racing term for having your feet on both the brake and the gas pedal, pushing down firmly on both, while waiting for the light to turn green. Our life this week has been a brake stand kind of week. One simple piece of paper is keeping us from taking our foot of that brake pedal, but it hasn’t been printed yet. So we are experiencing all the excitement and energy of having our engines revved up and ready to go…but we aren’t allowed to move yet. It’s exhilarating and frustrating at the same time 😉

I promise to give details as soon as I can, truly I do. I guess you will just have to exercise patience alongside us, eh?? I was given a couple very lovely gifts this past weekend. I wasn’t able to take a picture yet of my new apron because I wore it last night while making crab rangoons. I happen to love wearing aprons because I am a messy cook and they save my clothes!

I am seriously backlogged with blog posts. I have most of the trips we have done here in Germany started and well drafted, but I just haven’t had the time to sit down and get them published. I want to add pictures, but holy cow, that takes so much time!! I need a blogging vacation just to get them all done. I hope I haven’t forgotten too many details!

Homeschool:

We still haven’t officially started. Hopefully next week. Our books aren’t here yet, which is rough, but hey, we will have a gradual start to our year. I have gone through all the book shelves and cleared out the books that need to be rehomed and the books that just needed to go! It looks much better in our school room!

Danny is in 9th grade this year (how on earth did that happen!!??). He will be attending Veritas Scholars Academy online. We are pretty excited for him, but I don’t know that he is excited yet.

Bekah is in 8th grade:

Josh is in 6th grade:

• Spelling: MCP Spelling
• Computer: Webucator Courses

Josiah is in 3rd grade:

• Math: Horizons Math 6
• English: BJU English 6
• Science: Apologia Anatomy and Physiology
• History: Tapestry of Grace, Year 1
• Typing: Typing Club
• Spelling: MCP Spelling

Noah is in Kindergarten and we are using the boxed set from Horizons for this year.

It is going to be a full and exciting year!
