National Day of Prayer

Today is the National Day of Prayer!
Now, prayer may not be your thing, but it is vitally important to my life 🙂

Prayer:
  • helps to alleviate the guilt of my sin (and yes, I do sin),
  • it helps me to find solace during troubling times,
  • it gives me hope that someone actually cares about me, and
  • I receive comfort from it.

The Bible tells us to pray constantly (1 Thes 5:17), to pray for each other (Eph 6:18), to pray for church leaders and those who labor for the Gospel (1 Thes 5:25), to pray for peace and prosperity within our home towns (Psa 122:6), to avoid temptation (Luke 22:40), when we are suffering (James 5:13), to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us (Mat 5:44), and Jesus even taught us how to do this (Mat 6:9-13).

I hope your day of prayer is beneficial and refreshing. May God be present in your life today and may He make himself known to you 🙂
