Hey y’all! I know I have been remiss about blogging these past few weeks. We are hot on the trail of an overseas PCS, finishing up our homeschool, and we even fit a Germany house hunting trip in there for me. So to say it’s been crazy is a slight understatement. For 10 days, Ben played the role of a true single parent (but only for 10 days). He had to go to work and then come home to prep dinner, feed the kids, get that all cleaned up, do bedtime routine and get the kids down all by himself. He told me it was more exhausting that he thought it would be. So again, my hats off to my single friends out there. Your job is exhausting!!!!
I had the delightful experience of seeing a new country and new culture from the safety from under a wing of another. I was able to walk through German stores, pay for groceries, ride along on the Autobhan, and even experience my first real life auction in total safety. I think I have found my calling. I want to do that for others. I want to be the safety net for folks getting used to Germany in the comfort of the passenger seat. My lovely hosts helped me to experience as much as possible, even to showing me the ‘back way’ onto post during rush hour. I can’t tell you how helpful that was and how pleasant it was to learn it all in a safe environment!!
Thank you Steven and Peggy for my ‘right seat ride’ and for being such pleasant hosts!! I do blame you for getting me hooked on those pretzels so quickly, though 😉
