Planning a Military Move

My New 30 Day Challenge

I know I have just completed a 31 Day Challenge this last month, but if I had known what I know now, I would have changed gears on it! Trust me…

I had already spent hours (yes, hours) on creating the button for the October challenge and I had begun to brainstorm/draft posts for the challenge. I also felt compelled to stick with the Pink Ribbon theme because I did want to honor my mother-in-law Patty. However, if I had known that October was going to be a whirlwind of change for our family, I would have also changed the focus on my last challenge because moving is pretty much all that occupied my brain 😉

Change is in inevitable for the military family and our lives changed, again, at the beginning of October…out of the blue!!

We received word that we would be moving again in just 5 weeks. Folks that is the shortest warning we have ever received for a military move. I wanted to share with you what 30 days of PCS (Permanent Change of Station) preparing looks like for a military family, because that is a pretty big deal in a pretty short time frame!! This is one of the big ways in which the military life is nothing like civilian life. I have had friends move with a companies relocation program and there are warnings and interviews concerning that sort of move. In the military, you get a phone call or email stating “Uncle Sam Calls” and your life is changing again.

So let us begin 30 Days of a Military Move!
